Save Sunday morning, October 1st for a special tour of two fisheries projects in the East Bay. We’ll visit the new fish passage that connects upper and lower Pinole Creek under I-80 - - - plus take a peek at the Watershed’s project on Wildcat Creek. 


Stop #1: We'll meet at 10:00 AM in the parking lot of the AMF Pinole Valley Lanes, 1580 Pinole Valley RdBERT MULCHAEY, Senior Biologist for EBMUD, and BEN WALLACE, former Executive Director of the Contra Costa Resource Conservation District, will show us the new fish passage.  Sturdy shoes are recommended for those participants who want to view the fish passage from the embankment. Waders or 12" high water-proof boots are needed for those who want to walk through the water-filled passage - - - we'll have fifteen pairs for use as loaners. 


Stop #2: Travel to the Wildcat Creek site with parking on Fred Jackson Way in front of the North Richmond Ballpark. HELEN FITANIDES from the Watershed Council and SPAWNERS will lead on a tour of Wildcat Creek's 'secondary channel' and fish passage.  


Grizzly Peak Fly Fishers will provide water and snacks. Car pooling is highly encouraged.
