Meeting Tonight on Sunol Compost Dump There will be a community meeting tonight, Wednesday, March 29th, on strategy for opposing the composting facility the Alameda County Waste Management Authority (ACWMA) is recommending for the Andrade Road site in Sunol. Tonight’s meeting is at the Sunol Glen School Auditorium at 6:30 pm. On April 26 the ACWMA will make a decision on building a composting facility just off Highway 680 and Andrade Road. The ACA and Sunol community groups are opposing this location, since it is inappropriate for a facility of this type and size. The facility will have unacceptable environmental, traffic and odor impacts on the Sunol Valley. We need someone to research the potential impacts of the compost dump on Alameda Creek and on native wildlife in the Sunol Valley. For more information on the compost facility visit www.healthyACenvironment.org or go to www.alamedacreek.org and click on “Action Alerts”.
